Airport drinking is mostly pretty banal stuff. Singapore’s Changi airport offers a few interesting 24/7 options. Barney’s Beanery LAX outlet has a few interesting beers in a classic belly to the bar setting. The Crown Bar in Melbourne offers – well Crown in a gold and black setting. All of these experiences pale into insignificance to Stomping Ground’s T3 1/2 bar at Melbourne’s Terminal 3.
It really has it all. A delayed flight need not be a reason to curse again – or just get to the airport earlier. Food Trucks, 11 taps ( one for cider), big screen, deck chairs, toasted sangas, merch, growler fills and takeaway funnies – it is all there. You access the bar from the left hand side of the departure section as you look from the street. A great brewer and a great concept. Long may it reign.
