I got a sneak peek into what will be one of the bigger taprooms on the NSW Central Coast. Hawkesbury Brewing Co is putting the finishing touches on a huge space to serve up their beers and seltzers to the good citizens of Lisarow and beyond. They’ve also developed a no alcohol range of beers called Prohibition, which are also on the taps.

The site is massive and the photos I took don’t do it justice. Plenty of seating with options like leather booths, belly-up at the bar, lounge chairs and stools around barrels. They are putting in a kitchen and the sparkies were hard at work. Not exactly sure of the official opening date, but they are selling takeaway and doing free tasting.

I can officially report that the Chocolate Coffee Stout is very impressive with a salvo of Moove chocolate milk flavours at the start before a satisfying coffee hit takes effect. They’ve played it safe in their early years, which is fine with their lager, pale and pacific ale – but with so many taps they have room to expand.

I’m delighted that there is another venue via which I can detour on my way to Wollombi. It will be amazing to see this thing heaving – it is a big ‘un.
