BotF had its first opportunity to try a relatively new addition to Manly’s drinking scene – the Space. This is a most unusual location for a bar. The Space sits in a mezzanine style loft above a beautician/spa. Access is gained by pressing a buzzer and then wending your way down a corridor and climbing a steep flight of stairs.
Once upstairs, a tasteful array of soft and hard seating options present themselves. Everything that can be white is white – from the baby grand piano to the couches. A well-stocked bar enables the barman to create a wide range of cocktails. The fridges have a small assortment of mainstream beers, but Duvel and Leffe are also available. This is a great little bar for pre-prandials. Given the Safety Wolf is being renovated at the moment, the Space should do a good trade for those wanting a quiet drink in civilised surroundings. You’ve just got to be able to find it.
