The term Fortuitous™ is often used tongue in cheek by Back of the Ferry members, particularly when out with better halves or offspring. But every now and then a truly Fortuitous™ discovery is made, and so it was on my last morning in Barcelona.

I was on my way back to my hotel after retracing part of Gaudi’s last walk, which had occurred 100 years and one day ago (he was hit by a tram and died from his injuries). I was walking back through El Raval and was zigzagging through the alleys when my sixth sense caused me to catch the word brewery out of the corner of my eye.

Caravelle Brewery makes its beers offsite but serves them on tap from a cafe that does a roaring trade. On the morning I stumbled across it, the taps were down and I was able to sample their Easy Lager, which had plenty of flavour. Friendly staff. Worth a visit if you make it to Barcelona

Okasional Beer would come up when I searched for Craft Beer in Barcelona. It is a bottleshop that has a great range of craft beer. After Caravelle, I was just set on getting back to my hotel, but then I walked past it. Had to poke my head it. Turns out they do four taps out the back. Owner is very friendly.
