4 Pines at Landers Pocket – Golf, beer and food

4 Pines has been a big part of the Back of the Ferry journey. Well before it became a successive part of two of the world’s largest brewing companies – AnBev in 2017 and then Asahi in 2020 – we loved their Brookvale and Manly venues and enjoyed their evolution from a single venue brewery in Manly to the behemoth the brand is today. Since getting the backing of the giants, the 4 Pines name has extended into football stadiums and beer barns in Victoria, NSW and Queensland.

#169 and your correspondent enjoyed an afternoon at the latest 4 Pines venue – 4 Pines Landers Pocket. This is a conglomerate venue that will keep growing I feel. It is an 800 person hospitality venue with the 4 Pines formula of beer, cocktails and pub food, which adjoins to an (at least) a 40 bay driving range and mini golf course.

With Magic Round on, we didn’t feel the need to book, but that was a mistake. 4 Pines Landers Pocket was as full as a Catholic School with family groups abounding. Lovely Brisbane weather and the punters were out in force.

My photos don’t do the venue justice. It is huge. #169 is a keen golfer and she noted that just about every driving bay was being used. There’s a separate pizza room pumping out pizzas to the hungry patrons. It is like a bowling alley but for golfers. There are unique beers being brewed in some big tanks and there’s also a gin distillery on site as well. Cop a tip – book ahead. I’ll be back.
