Venom Brewing taproom

Golden Ale is a beer style not often seen. The sadly departed Two Birds Brewing did an absolute belter and Venom Brewing’s flagship drip is their Golden Ale. A malty, slightly bittered quaffable drop that I’ll always have if I see it.

One of my go-to venues in Melbourne used to be Mrs Parma’s on the corner of Amphlett Lane and Little Bourke Street. Famous for its Victorian menu (20 types of Parma and only Victorian craft beer and wine), it sadly closed a few years ago now. In its place has moved the Venom Brewing Taproom.

Not only can you get Venom Golden Ale, but there’s a good range of other Venom drops including their Refreshing Ale, Lager, IPA, Pale Ale and Cherry Sour. The beer is brewed in Yea in regional Victoria, but it is great that they’ve got a taproom in the CBD.

Great to sneak in a couple of uniques including the Dry Lager and their IPA. The slogan is Dangerously Good Beer and it truly is. I couldn’t resist a pot (it is Melbourne after all) of the Golden and it is as good as I remember. Great to see a good micro hanging in there and fighting the good fight.
