Beaches Brewery – 3 blokes having a crack

The Northern Beaches has a new brewing company. Beaches Brewery had started to pop up in bottle shops and pubs around the insular peninsula. I popped along to the wonderful Beach Club Collaroy to try one of their two flagship beers and meet the people behind Beaches Brewery.

3 Northern Beaches blokes have gotten together to create a community brewery that celebrates where they live and having a good time. They’ve got aspirations to open a taproom and brewery but for the time being they are Gypsy brewing. They’re definitely looking for a site – preferably equidistant from their homes of Elanora, Collaroy and Brookvale.

Their first two beers are available in bottloes and they are starting to make headway in pubs. The Harbord Hotel was serving Hazy Lager earlier this month. The Collaroy Beach Club was selling very reasonably priced schooners of Crisp Pale.

Got to say that it is a ripping beer. Crisp Pale is a good looking beer with a golden hazy appearance. It is very easy drinking with a good hoppy edge that’s not as subtle as advertised but is by no means dominating. Subtle juiciness and a really clean finish. Great summer beer and I hope they make it on to more taps around the beaches. Good luck, fellas.
