I guess wherever you get to travel for work or play it’s pretty natural to have preconceived idea of what to expect. That was certainly the case for me in regard to India. After having experienced China to be honest I was expecting more of the same and less infrastructure and I guess at glance is what you get.
There are a couple of things though that have been a real surprise. The first is the people and the second is a full blown German brewery in the middle of Gurgaon about an hours drive from New Delhi.
The samplers were entirely quaffable and the Brewers special was the pint of this correspondents choice. Malty and entirely more-ish.
The Indians really are certainly different than the Chinese less in-your-face and more calm. Language challenges are also much less confronting. The really extreme poverty is something that one didn’t see in China.
A single days experience so far is not a long time by any stretch and my most anticipated experience was/is to compare both countries. All that can be said so far is that I really really like what I see but so far I just can’t aptly describe what that is. The national tourism slogan is extremely well penned though – India is indeed incredible.
Nice work. What was the brewery called?
