Azure Bar – rooftop heaven

Azure 1

Firstly apologies to those readers that subscribe to BotF by E-Mail that received the riveting update on the Under 7 Buffaloes duties for Saturday. D’oh and double d’oh.

Getting to know more and more of Hong Kong on this latest sojourn. Fortunately my hosts this time have included a local who knows some of the best spots in Hong Kong. I told her of my predilection for rooftop bars and we’ve been treated to some absolute beauties. That’s extended to restaurants and last night we went to quite simply one of the finest Beijing style restaurants I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Simply named “Beijing Restaurant” it is on the 5th floor of the Jardine Centre – 50 Jardine’s Bazaar, Causeway Bay. We ate pigs ear, pigs intestine, homemade twice fried pork – it was just heaven.

A couple of nights ago we stood in the mist on the 30th floor of the LKF Hotel in Central. It has been miserably wet in Honkers all week, but that still doesn’t stop the Hong Kong lights from sparkling. The International Finance Centre is one of the tallest buildings on the Island side of the bay, but because the LKF Hotel is set on the side of the very steep hill that runs up through Central and SoHo, you actually get to eyeball the top of the IFC building. Just stunning views and a great place to chill.

The beer list is disappointingly brief and macro – but that does little to detract from the spectacular view.
