Brewed by Fishrock Brewery in the landlocked NSW southern highlights, there is guff on the makers website that sets off alarm bells. ……”beers are made in compliance with the Bavarian Purity Law”…….”barley and aromatic yeasts with artesian water sourced beneath the Southern Highlands”…….”preservative free European style beers with complex layers and aromas”.
However, despite the face cream-like claims, this drop is certainly something special. A great taste which places it above its domestic competitors. Worth a lash if you see it. Looking out for it’s sibling, the Red Emperor Amber Ale.
So would this be a good “antiquing beer” given its Southern Highlands heritage? My wife and I often work up a thirst as we traverse the copious Bong Bong St antiquities stores in Bowral and this sounds like the prefect remedy.
Not sure if the The Royal (nee Blue Boar) would have it. I’d set up shop in front of the fire at Briars and punch out a few…make sure the kids stay out of the lake.
Good advice. Will do.
Best,
