Cumberland Ale – Ancestral Ale

This BotFer’s ancestors (one eighth of them anyway) came out from England in 1841 from a little town the lakes district of England called Cockermouth. I was surprised then to find a beer in the local bottlo that is brewed there. Cumberland Ale is one of 4 staple brews produced by Jennings Brewery. Probably the least imaginatively named of the Jennings Family (Sneck Lifter being my personal favourite), it is nonetheless a beer to be proud of. A well rounded ale with a golden colour and a distinctive hoppy taste, I wouldn’t mind being in a small lakes district bar blowing the froth off a couple of pints of this stuff.
