You can have a planned induction, you can have a spontaneous induction – both are great. Tonight’s induction was the latter with the founder of the Northern Beaches greatest print publication joining the co-founder of the Northern Beaches (and Australia’s) longest running beer blog on a Fortuitous™ trip to Manly.

The Tawny Frogmouth is in its fifth year of fostering the most positive and inspirational sense of community within Sydney’s Northern Beaches aka “God’s Country”. Liam latched on to Back of the Ferry early and we’ve been proud to write stories about Tawny’s beer events with Bucketty’s to promote wildlife rescue on the Insular Peninsula. We’ve always talked about an induction and the stars aligned so we were able to make it work. Even better, the Ansel Adam of Sydney Harbour was onboard to add to the documentation of the event.

Favourite Beverage: “Gotta be the Resch”
Favourite Sport to Spectate: Rugby League
Area of Trivial Expertise: Australian Politics
Favourite Pub of all time and why: The Steyne. “Because grandad used to go from a nursing home in Lilyfield with an old mate to grab a Resch. They had to sneak out. Whenever I go the Steyne I think about my grandad and imagine him at the Round Bar.
Induction ceremony performed by #1 with post induction ceremonies performed old school at the OG Four Pines brewpub. Plenty of world problems solved and this won’t be the last time Back of the Ferry and The Tawny Frogmouth collaborate.

Absolute gold, perfect Tuesday commute
