For pretty much as long as this blog has been going the Bavarian at Manly has been a fixture. Over the years it has been the occasional source of some pretty good German brewed uniques, particularly during OktoberFest.

After a long run, it has become another spot that is going to be absorbed by the great Felonisation of Manly Wharf. It’s a great view from the window seats that overlooks West Esplanade Beach and across to Forty Baskets Beach and Reef Beach.

It has always been good at lightening wallets, particularly when it was part of the RockPool group, and had the infamous 6% service fee.
It had a happy hour war for a brief time with the 4 Pines Brewpub, where for a short time you could get 4 Pines cheaper at the Bavarian than at 4 Pines.

There was also the Bavarian’s short lived foray into a craft beer line which included an early entrant into the low carb market. Who knows what will replace the Bavarian, but it is a good location and hopefully Felons deliver the goods.
