Vale Fury & Son Brewing Company

Gees – it is a tough time in the Australian craft beer world right now. There’s been an alarming spike in breweries going into administration, breweries closing and brands shut down by their capitalist overlords. The latest brewery to pull the pin (albeit on their own terms) is Fury & Son Brewing Company.

Ironically a line of the post I wrote about attending Fury & CO’s taproom opening in February 2018 read “This latest trip to Melbourne has revealed the rude health of Melbourne’s craft beer scene”. Well things appear to be going in the opposite direction right now.

Fury & Son have been slinging beers for eight years. Their taproom opened in February 2018 out in Keillor Park. (Surely the one and only time I’ll visit Keillor Park).

My last Fury & Son beer

According to @Untappd Fury & Son brewed 60 different beers. One of my favourites was a white stout called Wango Méis – a very creative beer. Up to the last they were going large. My last Fury & Son beer was a 10.1% Shiraz Barrel Aged Imperial Stout. Their IPA was very reliable.

Vale Fury & Son.
