28 Pale Ale and Spit to Manly Walk

If you only have one day in Sydney, the one thing you should do is get the Manly Ferry from Circular Quay to Manly and back (after a quick visit to 4 Pines or Murrays at Manly). It’s the best way to see some of the best views of Sydney Harbour. If you’ve got a little more time, then an absolute must do is the Spit Bridge to Manly walk. It is a fair trek at 9.5km, but it is worth the effort. It’s remarkable to be surrounded by bush and get access to deserted beaches whilst being in the middle of Sydney. You can perve at some fine real estate up close and the views of the harbour, Crater Cove, Balmoral and both heads are simply breathtaking and make a great back drop for Beer Porn.

28 Pale Ale is one of 7 beers made by the Burleigh Brewing Co. It is named after a 28 day period of swell at Burleigh Heads, which near the brewery. Apparently there’ll more information about the legendary 28 day swell at the beer’s own website, but they haven’t gotten around to it yet. The beer itself is pretty good. It is not as sharp as some Pale Ales I’ve had recently, but not everything needs to assault you. That said, this has plenty of taste and the hoppiness lasts at a mild hum for some time. A carton of these would go down a treat – a real sessioner.
