When BotF was under utilised by a former employer, he spent considerable time making entries on the BotF Bar Review Map. Over time, the BotF Bar Review Map has been ignored, but inspired by Charlie’s West Country adventures, recent trips to Melbourne and a promise by Technical BotF to improve the usability of the map – it’s time to revamp it. Originally only containing brs between Westpac Place and Circular Quay and in Manly, the BotF Bar Review Map contains entries in Melbourne, Wollongong, Beijing, Qinhuangdao and the West Country as well as Sydney.
The latest update to the map is to empty the Schooner over the Slip Inn. BotF had lunch there today.I’ve got to say I had an unfounded prejudice towards the Slip Inn. For whatever reason, I have ignored this longstanding hotel as a place for a beer. For the first time I noticed that the Slip Inn offers a beer garden.
What a fabulous venue on a summer’s day. 4 Schmiddies of Kirin and Coopers Green was $26, which seems a little toppy. Typical pub fare is offered, but I was a little underwhelmed with my burger. Good pattie, but soft, sweet, small bun let the whole thing down.
Tuesday movie nights in summer might prove to be a good attraction.
