For those of us old enough to remember the business excesses of the late 1980’s Queensland readers I am sure will recount the business lunch colloquially referred to as the “DCB” (don’t come back). This was a general description given to lunch benders that invariably went right through the afternoon and usually into the evening. I often describe China as being 25 years behind OZ in its business culture. I don’t mean this necessarily in a negative way because they have come a very long way in a very short time but the Country’s much talked about economic successes means that the business culture is very much reminiscent of the 80’s with the “DCB” still alive and flourishing. On a recent business trip to Wuhan, the Capital of Hubei Province with a population no less than 9.0 million I was a passive participant in a “DCB” which in China are invariable different to OZ and tend to be more participant encapsulating with lunches often ending with local Government officials, policemen and dentists being attracted into the fray. Notwithstanding, I was able to sample a new Chinese beer “Chero” locally produced in Wuhan. Despite an extensive web research I was unable to find any reference to Chero beer except for a now cancelled website www.twodrunkenjackasses.com/china-beer-2/ . “Chero” is a draft beer but is typical of a lot of Chinese brews is a little “watery” with not a lot of lingering taste.

I’ve just E-Mailed a photo of Chero, which I had in China before BotF. Certainly not memorable.
