A quorum on a Tuesday night saw BotF brave a wild and woolly night on Sydney Harbour. For the first 15 minutes we faced a stiff breeze, but no rain. Off Clifton Gardens the rain hit and despite trying both sides of the boat, we could not avoid the rain. Charlie’s expression in the photo shows the bracing nature of the wind. There was also the excitement of a decent rolling swell. We almost asked for frequent flyer’s access to the crew’s cabin.
The beer drunk on our journey was Palma Louca, which translated, has the vaguely relevant name to tonight’s journey of “Wild Palm”. Palma Louca is apparently still brewed in Brazil but it now part of one of the biggest brewing/beverage companies in the world – Heineken + a Mexican company called FERMA. Palma Louca is pale, fizzy, easy to get down and is actually quite cheap at Mr Liquor. A case of these on Copacabana wouldn’t go astray, but this ain’t anything special. Still, one of only two Brazilian beers reviewed on BotF.

[…] Liquor had a special on Palma Louca. This is a Brazilian beer that has previously appeared on Botf but was let down by poor BeerPorn. With the correct lighting available on the 5.30pm ferry […]
