Vielen danke!

The city of St Gallen is famous for a number of things the Abbey of St Gall whose renowned library is a UNESCO World Heritage Site which dates back to the 9th century (note the world globe made in the early 1700’s that only has the northern part of Australia shown in green, PNG is the yellow blob) and also it is the last place in Switzerland that our fairer specifies got the vote in 1990; mind you only via order from the High Court of Switzerland, the locals just would not have bar of such a change. It is also home to Schutzengarten the oldest brewery in Switzerland which to my bitter disappointment I did not get the opportunity to visit as a consequence of time constraints. We did however get to experience “Hell Lager” brewed by Appenzeller Bier be sure to check out the “Beer Academy” section of the site it is a wonderfully informative read. “Hell Lager” tastes impeccably the same as its Swissenglish website description it is a “light, mild beer with a malty taste. The hops are in the background and give the beer a mild bitterness. This is a fresh, clean and well-balanced beer with a dry hoppiness”. At 4.8% it does lack some punch but nonetheless it is definitely one to keep an eye out for in the bottle shops back in OZ; highly unlikely that we will see it here locally in Zhongguo!!
