If Mr Liquor at Circular Quay doesn’t have a new beer or a ridiculous special, this particular BotF correspondent prefers to purchase a 6 pack of Carlton Draught or a 6 pack of Tooheys New. This is because these two beers provide educational material under their lids and have provided a source of much debate on the trip home.
A trio of BotF originals were enjoying the trip home tonight, and were looking forward to the first trivia question of the evening courtesy of a Carlton Draught stubbie. The boys were aghast to find no question under the lid. Further investigation revealed that the traditional maroon lid has been done away with, and Carlton are using the lid of one of their other brews (possibly Carlton Blonde). This may be an anomaly (like a misprinted stamp), but if it isn’t, a seriously pissed off letter will be winging the way of Carlton United Brewing.
