BotF gets to cross another country off in the list of countries of whose beer it has drunk. I am glad the beer of Mauritius is famous, because for the life of me I can’t think of a famous Mauritian human.
Phoenix Beer is regarded as the national beer of Mauritius – Our Country, Our Beer. It is a golden coloured lager, with a faint hoppy taste. Nothing out of the box – but nothing to be ashamed about. Mauritius makes sugar cane and that is about it. I think their Rum would be worth investigating if you came across it. Probably my first and last contact with Mauritius.
