Warka Strong – Robust in every way

You’ve got to love the Poles. I haven’t had a beer from Polska that has been in a bottle smaller than 500ml large. Combine that with a beer that is 7% alcohol and you’ve got a 6 pack that would sort out the hardiest of BotFers. It has a taste that is rich and full and is approaching a Trappist beer like a Chimay for style. Its full flavour doesn’t lend itself to summertime quaffing, though it is not as thick as a hearty stout.

According to the label, Warka has been brewing beer since 1478 and was the brewer for the Polish royal court. There must have been some slaughterings in that court as well as some mighty hangovers. A trip to Poland has plenty of appeal.
