Franziskaner Weissbier is in no doubt yet another one of those monk brewed European wheat beers which basically cannot go wrong.
I don’t think I have ever encountered a nasty experience relishing one of these, whether it has been perched on a schooldays wooden table and chairs in a café streetside in Amsterdammen, below decks in a yo ho ho and bottle of rum underground monastic venue in Prague, Bruges or the like, or even in one of those new fangled Bavarian themed beer dens sprouting around Old Sydney Town.
A relatively heavy nectar when stacked up against the Australian thirst quenching lagers, yet pure and siren sung in its delivery.
Deutschlanders certainly got it right when they set down their beer purification laws. I assume these nectars fall under their spell, and a few of these in their appropriate vessel (generally a stein) will have you dispelled for the evening.
