I’m getting lazy when I’m in Sydney and tend to stay close to Manly and Brookvale. Which means I am losing touch of what is going on in other parts of Sydney. Alexandria has become a mini-Marrickville with at least four breweries in it.

I’d been invited to a 60th in Roseberry – so I thought I’d take the opportunity to visit a couple of places, but 2 Halfs was so good that I stayed put and almost didn’t leave for the 60th

I worked my way through three tasting paddles and only made it half way through the 24 taps. Not a single dud beer amongst them. A strong European influence on the tap list and I like how the beers are colour coded for Lager, Belgian, Hazy etc

The Belgian style beers were fabulous and the standout for mine was the Blood Orange Witbier – Blood Wit. Pizzas were coming from somewhere and were quite popular.

The 2 Halfs are a brewing venture and a distilling venture. Gin and Plum Brandy are on the menu in the spirit part of the business.

It is a pleasant place to drink, and you are right in amongst the gleaming brewing equipment. A great drinking experience. I need to get out more.
