An in situ post inspired by a very fine bar. Leonard’s House of Love is a retro American Bar housed in house in South Yarra – and I love it.
Eventually I’ll build a bar up at my country retreat and I’m always looking for inspiration on my travels. The roof above the bar at Leonard’s has given me plenty of inspiration about to do with a growing coaster collection.
No Carlton Draught in sight, and an eclectic mostly Melbourne sourced tap list including a house lager. Love Shack Brewing is appropriately represented in the House of Love with a fine pale ale.
If I hadn’t indulged in my other favourite past time at lunch (eating a Laksa), I would have had a crack at the very enticing American food menu. I’m a sucker for a fried chicken tender and Leonard’s Famous House Fried Chicken almost had me, but I showed remarkable restraint.
Leonard’s House of Love is not what I imagined to find in South Yarra. I’ll be back.
