Basement Brewhouse and the Bankstown Sports Club

Inductees #1 and #2 were treated by #88 with a trip to Bankstown to experience a flight simulator. After landing and taking off at the old Hong Kong runway, we made the short trip to the Bankstown Sports Club – home to , amongst other things, Basement Brewhouse.

What a gobsmacking setup. In amongst rainforests and waterfalls, train stations, digital roulette and gaming and a hotel is a brew house and sports bar extraordinaire. Truly a club with the lot.

The cellar man would have his work cut out for him because there are thirty taps. There’s 10 taps of Basement Brewhouse beers. My personal favourite was the Big Amber. A beefy malty 7.5% ABV – definitely pint worthy, which I did after sampling a tasting paddle.

They generously give tap space to a number of Australian brewers including a few from the Southside of Sydney including Hairyman. There’s also takeaway available. I always love a place that has its beers listed using the Untappd Digital menu. The food is excellent US style burgers, ribs, croquettes etc.

It is a sport watcher’s paradise as well with big screens and booths that have individual televisions for watching what you want. After that you can for a walk and admire the waterfalls, train stations and monuments.

Well worth the visit.
