The first time I had a Running with Thieves beer was in 2019 at the Wollombi Tavern. I don’t recall seeing it anywhere else. Not sure how a couple of kegs up there – because Wollombi is a long way from South Fremantle. Running with Thieves https://runningwiththieves.com/is another epic set-up in Fremantle, just behind the railway line and South Beach. There’s a dune that prevents views of the beach – but it is a short stroll.
Running with Thieves is a terrific venue. One of the strongest merch games I’ve seen – going well beyond t-shirts and trucker caps.
The space is huge and there’s an open kitchen serving up very good eats. It is the Wednesday before ANZAC Day and that may have made the crowd a little small but there was still a steady stream of punters grabbing a feed.
Plenty of variety on the taps without going too off-piste. They are big on the RTDs as well. Strong paddle game. Love a six paddle serve.
South Fremantle is one helluva suburb and Running with Thieves is a great place to start and finish a visit there. I also sipped a beer at the awesome South Beach Hotel. It would be hard to think of a part of Australia with better pubs than Fremantle (North, Soutb and East).
