In 2022, I spent a couple of days in Hobart and really enjoyed the craft beer scene. Didn’t encounter a bad venue, but the clear standout for their skull-cracking IPAs and a memorable bowl of Chilli was Fox Friday. Was in Richmond, Melbourne with old mate Kieran #75 who suggested we go to this new place called Fox Friday. Yep – Fox Friday has a Melbourne location.
And bloody good it is too. Some of the beers come from Hobart, but some are being brewed on site in the new facility. The space is absolutely awesome and has a range of high and low seating. The food is exceptional and I’ll be back to have more of the melt in your mouth pork belly.
Of course there was a couple of 8% IPAs and the Red Tape Oar Cream DIPA was a belter. The beers titled Cosplay are the Hobart core-range brewed in Melbourne and I think there may be a variance or too. To be honest, I can’t be sure as daughter number 2 (#41) joined us and the conversation was lively.
Their prodigiousness of brewing new varieties means that visits to Fox Friday will be common when I’m in Melbourne. Very excited.
