A long overdue induction of a long time mate to many Back of the Ferry inductees and readers. A bitterly cold, squally, spitting afternoon was not ideal for an induction, but we pressed on and duly performed the ceremony.
Mark aka The Horse has been the source of much amusement to his mates with an amazing ability to sustain injury on the sporting field. Many of those moments were relived on the voyage. That said, a Wallaby second-rower very recently said to illiards of the Horse “Finest non-Wallaby second-rower I ever packed down with”. Mark did remain fit enough to hoist the trophy when the Sloths won the B Grade final at the 1992 Byron Bay Rugby 7s.
Favourite beverage: Stone & Wood Pacific Ale
Favourite sport to spectate: English Premier League
Area of trivial expertise: Formula 1 1960s to 1980s
Favourite pub and why: The Glenmore in the Rocks because I had some young and silly times there in the 1990s…
Great to get the big fella out the back.
Induction ceremony performed by #1, #2 and #3 with post-induction festivities held at the Manly Wharf Bar and Alice Dumpling.
