BotF settled into North Manly to watch the replay of the AFL GF. Disappointingly the game was all over by the end of the first quarter, with the turning point occurring not long after today’s beer was photographed. When the son of Ray Shaw smothered the ball off the boot of Nick Riewoldt, the contest was all over. Galling to see Everywhere Eddie blubber tears of joy at the start of the fourth quarter, the best team in 2010 has won the flag. The youth of the Magpies suggests that this could be the start of the 3-peat.
Mick had dived into the fridge of the Brookvale bottlo to pull another new beer. The William Bull Brewery has graced these pages before with their very good Red Angus Pilsener. For some time, the Red Angus was the only beer produced by William Bull, but that has now changed with the introduction of William’s Pale Ale. It has been worth the wait, as this is another very good beer.
The label craps on a little about being “long on the quench”, but the Pale Ale is distinctively tasty and the citrus flavours it claims to have are very evident. This would be a magnificent barbecue beer on a hot summer’s day. Big fan.
