One of the most distinctive beer bottles comes from another winery that also makes beer. Moorilla winery is only 15 minutes out of Hobart and is far more than just a winery. Accomodation in funky pavillions, a swanky restaurant, art gallery, a jetty and a brewery. If the pictures are any guide this would be one hell of a place to stay sans kids.
These guys produce 4 beers year round and a limited edition Stout once a year. Each bottle has a different piece of artwork, which is a little modern for my taste. The website spends more time discussing the artwork than the beer. The Dark Ale that I tried is, according to the bottle, styled on an American Brown Ale. It’s a pretty mild drop, but nice and hoppy nonetheless. Pretty exxy, so it’s one to drink sparingly. A four pack will set you back the same as a 6 pack of something good or imported. It’s worth it though.
