On Tuesday night, 3 foundation members of BotF braved the elements to cross a turbulent harbour. Technical problems prevented an earlier posting, and also apologies for the triple send of Zipfer Lemon. At least we were able to make the journey. Reports are that the Manly Ferry was stopped because of the high seas this evening.
Tuesday’s trip was made very pleasant by the consumption of a tasty new Australian drop called John Boston “Mill” Pale Ale. John Boston’s Premium Lager has been reviewed previously and from memory underwhelmed. This offering is far better. Sharp distinctive taste with a lingering hoppy afterglow. Mick found it a little sweet, but I didn’t have the same experience.
I’ve only seen this beer in one bottlo. CBD Cellars isn’t known for its specials and this 6 pack was reduced to $13.99. This makes me wonder whether John Boston is on the way out and CBD was clearing stock. The lack of a website presence for Mill Pale Ale is also a worry.
It’d be a shame because I think John Boston could be more than just a James Squire wannabe.
