Sydney is wet again, but that did not deter 3 of the original BotFers enjoying a trip across our fine harbour. Maybe because it had been a while since so many of the BotF core had been on the boat, Sydney Harbour found it necessary to put on a fireworks display. We are still not sure of the reason for the pyrotechnics, but it was a 15 minutes display of some magnitude. There was a rather large barge positioned off the Opera House that was being held in place by a tug. It was possibly an expensive launch for a show at the Opera House, but we couldn’t be sure.
The 3 salty sea dogs remained solid on the stern as we watched other less weathered passengers seek the shelter of the side of the ferry. It rained – sure – but not enough to deter us from enjoying a walloper free evening as the big issues were discussed.
The other news of the night was a special at the CQ bottlo. $12 for 3 Heine longnecks (a misnomer as they are only 600ml). This is a big deal for Mr Liquor because he only gives specials on things sold off the back of a container that has fallen off a freighter that couldn’t get into the Newcastle port. This is a higher quality special than we are used to because normally his “specials” are on “beer” that could be used as substitutes for draino.

Fireworks were for Stephen Fry holding a discourse at the Opera House.
