Recently, BotF visited the city version of the Bavarian Bier Cafe to empty another schooner on the BotF Bar Review Map. It is always a good albeit expensive experience, but BotF couldn’t help itself and ordered something it had never tried before – Bavarian Diesel.
Bavarian Diesel is half coke and half Hofbrau Dunkel. The only sensible thing about BotF’s order was that it was the smallest size, but at 300mls, it was 300mls too much. The drink would have benefitted from a stir, as it felt more like drinking one of those layered cocktails. The first sip was almost pure coke, and the last sip was almost pure dunkel. Somewhere in the middle there was a passable blend that was OK, but really two good beverages were ruined. This is something I’ll never do again.
