I have to thank my cousin for this post. I have a bunch of 20 something cousins, and after my grandad’s funeral, we all became Facebook buddies. The knack for spotting quirky items would seem to run in the family and this story certainly appealed to my sense of humour. Thanks, Chris Harrison.
A German company has been awarded the rights to make Fucking Hell beer. There is a little town in Austria called Fucking and Hell can be a German word for Ale. The hotlinked article goes on to describe the difficulties faced by a town with such a name, including the attempted purloining of street signs. There’s a small photo gallery attached to the article, and I particularly liked the photo attached. I could imagine myself and other selected BotFers travelling out of our to obtain the same photo, and I love the alternative way one could read the sign in the photo, which I think is meant to say “You are now leaving the town of Fucking”.
I will keep an eye for this beer.
