Trumer Pils – Pride of Salzburg

I only knew Salzburg as the home of the Sound of Music and Mozart, but it can add another string to its bow – Trumer Pils. There’s a couple of Austrian beers available in Oz – Steigl (funnily enough available at the Bavarian Beer Cafe) and Gosser, but they’ll do well to top this drop.  This is only variety produced by the Trumer Braueri – even the smallest microbrewery in Oz will pump out a few different brews – but that focus has yielded a champion drop. Their website – http://www.trumer-international.com/trumer.php– announces that they’ve opened a brewery in Berkeley, CA and this brewery or braueri also produces only one drop.

The first thing you notice when you pour the beer is the amount of bubbles generated.  It is one of the fizziest beers I’ve poured but when you drink it the bubbliness is not overpowering.  Distinctly pils – but so smooth and not ovepowering.  This is a very refreshing but flavoursome beer.  Get into it or as the Trumer Pils bottle exhorts you to do – Einfach Leben! – simply live.
