Toohers banishes surfing demons |
Curl Curl, 6:30am: I have to admit the conditions didn’t look inviting at first, rain, grey skies, gusty winds, high tide and messy swell direction. But we were there so out we went and I am glad we did as this was my first surf in over 5 weeks and the rust had well and truly settled in. Very sluggish getting to my feet (more than usual) which wasn’t good given the steep conditions. The important thing is there were waves and some of the short boarders were caught out by not bothering to bring their leg ropes. All in all Duncan and I managed to get some good rides with plenty of face to trim and even the occasional turn. Well worth the effort.
